Taxing Property Like Income Does Not Respect Property Rights

Dark store appeals successfully reduce property tax liability. If property is assessed at market value, this is reasonable. Some cities want to factor the owner's income into the tax assessment. This is ridiculous because people only buy or keep property if it is worth more to them than the price they could get from selling it. If you need to tax income, then tax income.
